Playing short notes (staccato)

FavoriteLoadingAdd to favorites YouTube Preview Image

Its important to be able to shorten your notes (also called staccato notes) and muting unwanted strings from ringing especially when playing more syncopated styles (funk/fusion)
I use the right hand in a walking motion to do that
1′st finger pluck G string and immediately rest on a string lower , muting unwanted ringing, while the 2′nd finger stops the G string for the preferred length of note – difficult to explain, easier to see in action
I use a basic alternating 2 finger technique 1212 1212 1212 1212

Patricio: Hi MDK, Wow waht a great DVD... just spent a few hours learning the first few lessons... great quality and well taught... I'm very pleased with my purchase. If any improvment could be made I would only say could there be a 'repeat' funcion so that you can get a lick to play continually? or what aboutt a not showingthe BPM so that we can use the correct tempo using the drum patterns... overall a wonderful job... I look forward to more downloads in the future.... especially for IPad

MarloweDK: Great to hear, enjoy it:-)
