Hip pentatonic patterns in depth

FavoriteLoadingAdd to favorites Get out of the rut of the same boring pentatonic patterns and get a hipper modern sound Using the E minor pentatonic scale ( E G A B D ) The first pattern is: play any note from the pentatonic scale on the G string ex E Play the next available descending scale note on the D string ex D Go back to the G string, skip the initial note and go to the next ascending scale note ex G Down again to the D string, skip the D and play the next descending scale note ex A Repeat the patter on the next pair of string sets ex DA, AE Experiment with leaving out repeated notes, change the rhythm, slap it , pick it, etc
