I constructed this Jaco inspired line by thinking in a modal way around an initial E Dorian mode. The first part of the line is basically Em pentatonic, it shifts down to the Db where I then use Db Locrian mode, which contains all the same notes as E Dorian this in turn implies the E Dorian overall tonality.
I also use some passing notes, which aren’t strictly part of the scale, in the chromatic walk up from Db to the root E.
See my other video ‘modes of the major scale’, you can learn the Locrian mode from there.
Wow really cool but I don’t know the Locrian mode
Nice sounding E string
