E Fingerstyle Groove

Playbassnow.com proudly presents a lesson from:

FavoriteLoadingAdd to favorites I constructed this Jaco inspired line by thinking in a modal way around an initial E Dorian mode. The first part of the line is basically Em pentatonic, it shifts down to the Db where I then use Db Locrian mode, which contains all the same notes as E Dorian this in turn implies the E Dorian overall tonality. I also use some passing notes, which aren't strictly part of the scale, in the chromatic walk up from Db to the root E.
