Like somebody said in the YouTube comments, you can also experiment with short scale bass timbres and feel. Simply detune your bass a whole step to D standard (DGCF) and put a capo on the 2nd fret - voila! Short scale bass. Make it as short as you'd like by detuning the bass lower and lower and raising the fret higher and higher. -Adam
