L167 Thumb-picking funky E7 bass groove

FavoriteLoadingAdd to favorites

Im almost only practicing this technique these days, makes playing standard fingerstyle so easy in comparison. It is possible to play this funky groove with standard fingerstyle.

Im using thumb, index and middle fingers only

NB: Just realized that in the slow version, im changing the rhythm a bit on the sliding parts in bars 2 and 4 , please listen to the normal version for correct timing.

Well, not exactly will take too much work to update the older video links, but the videos are hosted on blip.tv, you can download from there 1 video at a time.
Another possiblity is to donate and download all 300 licks of the day -read more here

Hello Marlow,

Again a very great funky groove!

I’ve a little question: is it possible for you to modify the olds pages of your website, to give the possibility of downloading thoses greats videos? (now, on new lessons, we can download flash videos but not for olders)

Cause I’m often on road, and sometimes my hotel don’t give me the possibility to have a internet acces point.

So i could transfert them on my mobile computer and could work with my bass and headphones in my room.(Sorry for my poor english)

Thanks and best regards.

fotp: Hey, what do you think about Rodenberg pedals ? Just ordered the GAS 728B on thomann, hope it will be worth it !

fotp: Hi, who is your sandberg reseller ? thx

funkyjonx: Does anyone have pro tips or pointers for smooth slides? I find that I hear the individual frets/note much more than I would like.

mikeepatrick: Just really, really wanted to thank you, dude. Groove on, brother...

Dug: would someone be so kind and do a tutorial on "i'll be there" by Marcus Miller? just thought i'd ask!!! thx Marlowe, i luv it here!!!

MarloweDK: Thank you Patricio, your suggestions have been noted, and yes im looking into the ipad too:-)

Patricio: Hi MDK, Wow waht a great DVD... just spent a few hours learning the first few lessons... great quality and well taught... I'm very pleased with my purchase. If any improvment could be made I would only say could there be a 'repeat' funcion so that you can get a lick to play continually? or what aboutt a not showingthe BPM so that we can use the correct tempo using the drum patterns... overall a wonderful job... I look forward to more downloads in the future.... especially for IPad

MarloweDK: Great to hear, enjoy it:-)

Soulburn: Finally I donwloaded the DVD, its simply amazing. I wait for more material like this. Thanks you very much! Cheers from Argentina

MarloweDK: Thank you, and yes, i will make something else for the next dvd
