It can be hard to play funky slap in medium / slow tempo (82 bpm)
Untight 16th notes stand out so much more in slow tempos – therefore we must practice that too:-)
Hair by Larry Graham is a another prime example of playing in this tempo/groove – a song that have taken me many years to play just ok.
Bass: 1976 Olympic white Fender Precision bass, all stock.
Strings: Dunlop Nickel plated Medium gauge 45 -105
Headphone amp with rhythm, ampsim, compressor and chorus: Korg Pandora Px4
Recorded directly into iMovie on Macbook
Location: Hotel room
CORRECTION: The start of the slow version is wrong, the first notes should be
Hammer on from E to G on E string
Pluck/pop octave G on D string
Two thumbed low Gs on E string
Pluck/pop octave open G string
after that the rest of bar one should be ok, do the same for bar two.
UPDATE! I’ve included the correct transcription / TAB below
