L290 Em pentatonic bassline

FavoriteLoadingAdd to favorites YouTube Preview Image

A relatively simple bassline using only notes from the E minor pentatonic scale – E G A B D.

Im experimenting with my new audio and video setup:

A Creative Vado HD 3rd generation pocket dv cam for video. Not enough light in this shoot, will be better in next video:)

And for audio; a TC electronic RH450 amp direct output into a Apogee Duet soundcard into Garage band (mac)

On the Jazz Bass Im favoring the bridge pickup and rolling back on the tone control (Jaco style setting)

RH450 amp settings for this lick:

Links from youtube videos goes to the page with the particular lesson, on that page there is a download link to transcription/tab. Look at the last 5 or 6 “Lick of the day” uploads, all with download links

I saw on You Tube that standard notation parts are available for certain tutorials. I can’t find them on the site. Could you please indicate (clearly) how I can get to them? Thanks, Diane

A “practice tempo” is a tempo where you can play the line fluently and precise;-)

I have no problem with the video on my mac here, are you on very slow computers?
Bass is loud too.
Maybe you should just download the iPod version?

The video is freezing up and the bass is very low! All other videos are working. Please help, need my fix!

…sounds OK, but the video was jerky and delayed when I viewed it (has been quite OK for a long time with the “old” setup) Hope this is not permanent :-) /Steve

Hi Marlowe

Nice lesson, I wonder where you get so much inspiration.

One day I’d like to see a lesson about tone, pickup balance and amp settings, etc

Regards from Portugal

MarloweDK: Most notation programs do that, i use guitar pro and sibelius ( for nicer notation)

grunz7: Hi - I am looking for a notation programm that can also handle deadnotes. Maybe even open source? Can you suggest something?

MarloweDK: My Slap bass app is now updated to iOS 7

MarloweDK: Den er opdateret nu:-)

MarloweDK: Den er sendt til apple , så det er inden for denne uge tror jeg, det har varet noget tid pgr af en tredjeparts plugin.Tak:-)
