First part is mainly dorian scale with added major thirds, secon part is minor pentatonic / blues scale
where can i get the tab for this. is it available.
Well, start with the diatonic modes of the major, and to simplify – its just the major scale starting on the different steps.
And there is only 12 keys not 10000;-)
But almost more important is to develop your feel of time, rhythm, and ability to play with others.
Learn basic harmony; beeing able to read chord charts.
All that said if you grooves and have good time, people will hire you even if you dont know any modes:-)
Marlow, Thank you!! I enjoy your tutorials so much! Now, I just acquired my first 6-string bass and I’m really trying to get into some solid bass playing. I’m wondering. Do I have to learn EVERY mode for EVERY SINGLE key?
just search for “fills”, im sure you can find some:)
wow great stuff be can you please do some more simpler fills i have only been playing for 2 and a half years
Keep it groovin !!!!!
Great stuff again Thomas! It is really useful and helps me developing my own fills – keep up sending the bluesy stuff please…!!

marlowe: just to say thank you, your lessons have helped me a whole lot. On your 24min video you made a statement stateing that knowing the pentatonic scale made you know 90% of what you know in music which is very interesting. Also i would appreciate if you could advice me of how to apply it when playing other music?
