NEW THEORY LESSONS
As you may have noticed, the "Lick of the Day videos" are on hold for the time being. Instead, I've done a series of "Practical Theory" lessons, since a lot of you have requested just that.
The newest video is "How to Improvise on a Minor Chord Progression".
"Chords are | Am7 | G7 | FMaj7 | FMaj7 Bm7b5 |
You can play the A minor aolian/A minor pentatonic scale...."

LARRY GRAHAM
About a month ago, in Copenhagen, I was very fortunate to experience the legendary Larry Graham with his Graham Central Station in concert.
And what a show!! Two and a half hours non-stop with one of the true originators of funk! He was in top form with his great band, funky dance routines and a high energy set list packed with both GCS and Sly & the Family Stone classics.
A very talkative and funny man too -- I'll tell you about a moment that involved me:
I had brought along the first GCS album (vinyl, of course) to get the cover signed and it so happened that during the concert Graham was talking about a song from the first album and asked the audience if anyone knew it.
HERE! I yelled -- from two feet away -- and handed him the cover. A great moment, the whole crowd laughed. After the show, Larry Graham signed my cover and I felt like a kid again, in the best way:-)
Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to have my photo taken with him, but at least…
NEW TOYS
I've gotten myself some great new effect pedals, you'll experience them very soon in my videos.

GUEST TEACHER ADAM NEELY
Featured guest teacher is the multitalented Adam Neely.
Be sure to watch his eye-opening series of how to get deep into the pentatonic scale and also his video on proper left hand technique.

And speaking of YouTube:
As some of the Portuguese-speaking viewers of my YouTube clips may have noticed, i have done a PlayBassNow.com "teaser" video in Portuguese. I tried my best to do a slight Brazilian "carioca" accent -- I don't really speak the language that well, but my girlfriend is partly Brazilian and she tutored me (or was it tortured?) ;-)

WHAT HAPPENED TO THE MAY NEWSLETTER?
The May newsletter was cancelled due to the Icelandic ash cloud… ahem... I'm sorry guys, the PlayBassNow newsletter is skipping May and jumping directly to June.
